After a traumatic incident during his residency, young medical student James Hayman (Namir Smallwood) is transferred to a rural hospital for a fresh start. Dr. Harrison (actor and stage veteran Michael Potts) notices that James is struggling and having trouble communicating with patients, and suggests he take a course focused on bedside manner and facilitating deeper relationships with patients. The demons of James’ past begin to catch up with him when he is consumed by the case of a young asthmatic patient (Sidney Flanigan, NEVER Rarely SOMETIMES ALWAYS) presenting with mysterious symptoms. His grip on reality begins to weaken as his disturbing nightmares, anxiety-fueled speculations and physical injuries collide with the harsh realities of the medical world. Director Alex Thompson has assembled a strong ensemble of actors experienced in his SAINT FRANCES sequel – and GHOSTLIGHT predecessor – in this unconventional, humanist take on the genre.
